FEATURED CD

Songs and Dances from Albania by the Tirana Folk Ensemble. (2000)

Review from an amazon.com listener: "This CD is Balkan music at its very best!!! A tantalizing clarinet teases the emotions and draws out the melody making every sensuos note irresistible ..... at first s-l-o-w-l-y .....then the music speeds up, with unique chords and progressions, interspersed with sharps & flats, producing the Albanian/Balkan melodies & rhythms that have me jumping up and dancing just about every time I listen..."

Vocal Traditions of Albania by various artists. (2000)

Review by an amazon.com listener: "One of my most exciting CD discoveries this year, this masterpiece was recorded live by Radio Tirana, during the last day of the National Folklore Festival in Berat (Albania) in 1995. Different regional groups from all over Albania performed their unique style of music and vocal traditions..."
